Seven Civilians Killed in Airstrike by Military in Ukkan Village, Kawlin Township

In an airstrike carried out by the military on Ukkan Village, located in Kawlin Township, Sagaing Region, seven civilians have been confirmed dead, and four others were injured, according to reports from the Kawlin District 2nd Military Command. The attack occurred on the morning of September 30, around 11:50 AM, when two jet fighters dropped four 500-pound bombs on the northern part of Ukkan Village.

The military junta’s airstrike targeted an area inhabited solely by civilians, with no presence of the People’s Defense Force (PDF), and it has been noted that there were no clashes occurring at the time. The Kawlin District 2nd Military Command stated that the military junta’s forces are deliberately targeting civilians.

Additionally, it was reported that on the night of September 29, around 11:10 PM, the military junta also attacked near New Village in the western part of Kawlin Township with one jet fighter, dropping two 500-pound bombs, resulting in one civilian death and 15 others injured, despite the absence of any fighting.

Due to the ongoing airstrikes by the military junta, local residents are living in extreme fear and are unable to remain in their villages, leading them to seek refuge elsewhere.
