Military Attack in Khin-U: Four Civilians Killed, Three Villages Burned

Around 5:10 PM, the military launched an attack on Tahtain village in Khin-U Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in the deaths of four civilians and injuring six others. This information was confirmed by Colonel Thaman, an official from the Khin-U PDF. The military reportedly fired heavy weapons at the village while stationed in Pahta village, leading to the fatalities among displaced civilians.

Colonel Thaman stated, “Today, around 5 PM, soldiers from the nearby Zinyaw village in Ye-U Township fired heavy weapons into Tahtain village in Khin-U Township, resulting in four civilian deaths and six injuries.” The six injured civilians are reportedly in critical condition due to inadequate medical care.

In a related incident, the military also attacked villages including Ain, Indaw, and Thibaw in Katha Township earlier today, destroying numerous civilian homes. Local residents reported to the Yangon Modern Media that the military’s actions included burning down 15 houses in Ain village during the morning hours, although they could not confirm the extent of the damage in Indaw and Thibaw villages.
