In the Shwe Bon Thar village of Myaung township in Sagaing Region, a disabled individual was shot dead while trying to rescue their parents from the invading military.
It was reported by the CDSOM of Myo township that at around 5 AM on October 19, the military entered Shwe Bon Thar village during a raid, where a 45-year-old disabled man, U Myint U, was shot as he returned to help his elderly father who was struggling due to his age and health.
A representative from the CDSOM stated, “The soldiers waited for the right moment to raid the village, which led to chaos as the villagers tried to escape. U Myint U could not leave his ailing father behind and was shot by the military right at the entrance of their home. U Myint U had lost one arm due to an accident and was hard of hearing.”
The military also conducted searches within the village, reportedly stealing 13,500 Kyats, 5,500 Kyats, and two mobile phones from civilian homes.
