Local residents reported that the military has set fire to 248 houses across four villages in Sarlinkyi Township, Sagaing Region, and that they killed a 90-year-old blind grandmother and an 85-year-old elderly woman suffering from illness. Since late November, the military has been conducting operations within Sarlinkyi Township, resulting in the destruction of 155 houses in Sarhtone village, 24 houses in Thanzin village, 33 houses in Lekpan Kone village, and 36 houses in Taokanglay village, totaling 248 houses.
It has been confirmed that the military specifically targeted Daw Than Ngwe, a 90-year-old blind woman, and Daw Ama, an 85-year-old elderly woman, during their assault. Additionally, reports indicate that since November 30, the military has been burning down the villages of Sarhtone, Lekpan Kone, and Taokang, and has been detaining numerous children who are not yet of age.
Furthermore, on November 29, the military established a base in Shwe Kone village within Sarlinkyi Township, and on November 30, they entered Thanzin village and indiscriminately set fire to over 20 houses. Locals reported that the military also broke into residences and stole valuable items.
