In Dipeyin Township, the brutal military has been conducting arson attacks on villages for five consecutive days, forcing over 10,000 civilians to flee and creating an urgent need for food supplies. Since December 1, the military has targeted villages in the eastern part of Dipeyin, leading to mass evacuations as local residents seek safety.

A spokesperson from the Dipeyin Township Displacement Support Team stated that the situation is dire, with thousands escaping from villages in the eastern region, including Nyaunghla, Wegyi, Konegyi, and Namyar Yinsay, as well as from areas near the Shwebo-Dipeyin border. The military’s aggressive tactics include attacking and burning homes in these villages.

The displaced individuals have been seeking refuge in monasteries, schools, and other safe locations, emphasizing the urgent need for food assistance. “The number of displaced people is likely over 10,000. Currently, the immediate need is for food supplies. The Dipeyin Township Displacement Support Team is working to deliver urgent food assistance. We humbly request donors to contribute as much as they can to support the displaced individuals,” said a representative from the team.
