Hundreds Displaced as Military Continues Arson Attacks on Villages Near Depayin

Hundreds of civilians remain unable to return home and are in urgent need of food supplies as the military stationed in Depayin, Sagaing Region, continues its arson attacks on nearby villages, according to Htoo Khant Zaw, spokesperson for the People’s Defense Comrade based in Ye-U.

Since August, resistance forces had managed to clear Depayin town, but the military has since reinforced its presence and launched continuous raids, burning villages in the surrounding area. Around 40 villages have been affected, with civilians forced to flee for safety. As of now, they have not been able to return home and are in desperate need of food and other essential supplies.
