Military Airstrikes in Ye U Township Result in One Civilian Death and Evacuations from Five Villages

In Ye U Township, Sagaing Region, airstrikes by the military on October 5, without any ongoing battles, have resulted in the death of one civilian, prompting residents from five nearby villages to flee for safety, according to the spokesperson of the People’s Defense Comrade, Htut Khant Zaw (Amaethar).

On the evening of October 5, around 6:22 PM, a military aircraft conducted an airstrike near Dipeyain town, targeting Tin Tein Yan village in Ye U Township.

The spokesperson confirmed that the airstrike resulted in the death of one civilian from Tin Tein Yan village, and there are reports of injuries among the residents. Currently, due to the ongoing airstrikes by the military, residents from Tin Tein Yan, Ywa Ma, On Chan, Shauphyu, and Chaungyo villages are fleeing for their lives.

“A bomb dropped in the western part of Ye U Township hit Tin Tein Yan village, leading to one civilian death and one injury. Following the initial airstrike near Dipeyain town, the bomb that fell in Tin Tein Yan caused panic, and residents from nearby villages are fleeing as well,” Htut Khant Zaw stated.
