Airstrikes on Two Villages in Singu Township Kill One Civilian, Injure Four, and Destroy Homes

Myanmar’s military launched a series of airstrikes on Letpanhla and Htone Gyi villages in Singu Township, Mandalay Region, on the night of May 3, resulting in the death of one civilian, injuries to four others, and the destruction of multiple homes, according to Ko Thanmani, a local information officer with the People’s Defense Forces.

The first airstrike occurred at around 8:20 p.m., when bombs were dropped in a field northeast of Mulaungmyay Monastery in Pyisoe Aung ward of Letpanhla village. No casualties were reported in that initial attack.

However, subsequent bombings at 10:48, 10:54, and 10:55 p.m. targeted areas near Letpanhla Bridge and Ngwe Hpyan Aung ward, wounding one woman and destroying two homes by fire.

At approximately 10:58 p.m., the military carried out another bombing on Htone Gyi village, killing a 30-year-old man, injuring three others, and burning down five houses.
