In Sipakye village of Budalin township, Sagaing Region, six civilians have reportedly been brutally murdered by the military council. Witnesses stated that the victims had their heads and limbs severed, and their bodies were displayed in the compound. The military is also accused of setting the village on fire, resulting in the destruction of over 300 homes out of more than 500 in the village.

On October 17, the military stormed Sipakye village, subsequently burning the village. By the afternoon of October 19, after the troops had withdrawn, the bodies of the six brutally murdered civilians were discovered, according to a local community leader, Ko Moe Thaw.

“The military has gruesomely executed six civilians. They cut off the heads and displayed them in the compound. The village was also set ablaze, and more than 300 houses were destroyed. The deceased were elderly men residing in Sipakye village. Some survivors cannot yet specify where they were captured and killed. The corpses were in a state of decomposition,” a member of the local defense force reported.

It has been confirmed that the military committed acts of brutality, including severing heads and limbs, burning victims, extracting organs, and leaving remains in various locations around the village.
