November 4, 2024 – Military junta troops, stationed at the Pyu Saw Htee base in Karboe village, Kanbalu Township, raided Bu Gyi village and detained over 50 civilians, according to a spokesperson from the Kyun Hla-Kanbalu activist group. The operation took place around 10:15 AM today when junta forces, including around 100 personnel, entered the village in three vehicles and detained civilians at random during a staged meeting.
After the meeting, which lasted until around 1:00 PM, the junta troops forcibly took more than 50 villagers to the Kanbalu 6006 military vehicle base. The motive behind the detentions remains unclear, and local sources have drawn parallels with similar incidents, such as the one in Ai Paung Chaung village on October 30, 2024, where 37 civilians were detained under similar circumstances.
