A raid by the Myanmar military on Thet Taw Village, Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, resulted in the death of one civilian, destruction of over 30 homes, and the burning of a People’s Defense Force (PDF) camp, according to a spokesperson from the Red Blood Guerrilla Force – YSO.
The attack occurred early on the morning of November 21, at around 5 AM, with the military deploying airstrikes involving two 500-pound bombs and a 300-pound bomb targeting the PDF camp and Thet Taw Village. Following the air assault, ground forces of approximately 150 troops launched a two-pronged attack, encircling and storming the PDF camp.
Although resistance fighters managed to break out using landmines, they suffered significant losses, including the destruction of four structures, food supplies, explosives, personal belongings, one motorcycle, and solar battery storage units. In addition, displaced villagers were subjected to further violence as the military reportedly fired small arms at them, wounding two civilians. A refugee, Ko Kyaw Lin, was reportedly captured, executed, and buried near a roadside mango grove.
On November 24, reports emerged that the military had withdrawn troops stationed in Thet Taw, Zee Taw, and Kyauk Thap Villages, retreating towards Gway Cho Pyu Saw Htee Village and Kyauk Hle Kha Gate.
