Airstrike on Pekin Village in Hpruso Township Injures Three Civilians and Damages Homes and Vehicles

An airstrike by the military junta targeted Pekin Village, located west of Mowbyel in Hpruso Township, Kayah State, injuring three civilians and damaging two vehicles and several homes, according to a ground officer from the KNDF (Karenni Nationalities Defense Force).

The attack occurred today, December 27, at approximately 3:25 PM, when junta forces reportedly dropped one 500-pound bomb and one 120-pound bomb from fighter jets onto the village. The explosions caused injuries to three civilians, though their injuries are not considered life-threatening. Additionally, two vehicles and multiple houses sustained significant damage.

The incident adds to the growing number of airstrikes targeting civilian areas in conflict zones across Kayah State, further worsening the humanitarian crisis in the region.
