Clashes Erupt as KNLA Attacks Military Base at Thai-Myanmar Border, Forcing 100 Civilians to Flee

Fighting broke out at the Thai-Myanmar border after the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and allied forces launched an attack on the military base of Light Infantry Battalion 31 in Phlu Lu Tu, forcing around 100 civilians to flee into Thailand, according to sources monitoring the conflict.

The attack began on the evening of February 26, when KNLA-led forces used drones to bomb the military base. Clashes escalated, and by 10 a.m. today, the Myanmar military responded by conducting three airstrikes using fighter jets. In response, the Thai military also deployed fighter jets for aerial patrols in the border region.
