A military airstrike on a pagoda compound in Aye Kyin village, Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region, has killed a 16-year-old girl, according to a representative from the Taungtha Township Public Movement Committee.
At around 3:20 p.m. on March 10, a junta aircraft dropped bombs on the Dhammar Yone building inside the pagoda compound, despite the absence of any ongoing clashes in the area.
The attack resulted in the death of the teenage girl and left a man with severe injuries. Several buildings within the pagoda compound were also damaged.
“There was no fighting, yet they dropped bombs. A 16-year-old girl was killed, and a man sustained critical injuries. His condition is life-threatening. The buildings were also destroyed,” said a representative from the Taungtha Township Public Movement Committee.
