On April 26, armed forces launched an assault on Thambo village in KanU Township, Shwebo District, resulting in the death of local resident Ko Aung San Myint and the destruction of over 200 civilian homes. Local residents reported that the attackers not only set fire to houses but also killed 15 cattle and destroyed motorcycles in the village. One villager stated, “Due to the actions of the armed forces and their supporters, over 200 homes were burned. While the military was infiltrating the village, they encountered Ko Aung San Myint and shot him. They also killed 15 cattle and set fire to motorcycles belonging to the villagers.”
