In Oat Twinn Village, Thazi Township, Mandalay Region, the military reportedly opened fire on residents under the pretext of gathering in large numbers, resulting in one civilian death and the arrest of over ten others with injuries, according to local sources.
On the night of June 9, while the military and police were patrolling in Oat Twinn Village, they allegedly attacked villagers who were gathering, leading to the death of a man known as U Kula and injuring more than ten others who were subsequently arrested.
A local resident shared, “Not long ago, a member of the Kachin National Party was killed. The military and police are looking for issues around the villages. This time, they came in and shot because they said people were gathering. One person has died—U Kula. At least ten people were arrested, all injured. The shooting was directly at the gathering, and everyone was shot. I don’t understand why they are acting so violently.”
