In Mon State’s Thaton Township, Thonbale village under Wiyaw village tract was set ablaze by the combined forces of the military junta and the Border Guard Force (BGF) starting in the afternoon of June 25. Reports indicate that a disabled man named Saw Sa Mu, who had lost one leg, was shot dead, and the Thonbale village monastery, along with several homes, were being burned down. A local resident said, “They shot Saw Sa Mu, a man who had lost one leg. His family escaped, but he couldn’t run due to his disability, so they killed him. The military is now burning down the Thonbale monastery.” Additionally, several houses in Thonbale village have been torched by the military and BGF since this afternoon, leaving many homes destroyed in the ongoing attack.
