CDM Teacher Daw Cho Yaminn Hnang Sentenced to 15 Years by Military under Counter-Terrorism Law

The military’s Obo Prison Court sentenced CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) teacher Daw Cho Yaminn Hnang to 15 years in prison under section 50(j) of the Counter-Terrorism Law on July 6, according to reports. Daw Cho Yaminn Hnang, who resides in Zayapkwin Village, Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region, was arrested by the junta on December 15, 2021, at her home without cause and taken to Obo Prison.

“They accused her of contacting the PDF (People’s Defense Force) and charged her under section 50(j). The Obo Prison Court handed down the 15-year prison sentence on July 6,” said a friend of Daw Cho Yaminn Hnang.
