In the southern part of Kalay Township, Sagaing Region, troops from the military junta reportedly entered the Lay Aye Group (Kha) area and executed two farmers, U Phoni and Aung Thein Win, who were working in nearby fields, according to local residents. On the morning of August 16, around 6 AM, a military unit of approximately 50 soldiers stormed a UG (United Government) camp in the southern Kalay Township, where UG forces managed to escape. However, the military indiscriminately shot and killed two villagers working in the fields nearby, as reported by the PDF Kalay unit.
