In Makyee Auk village, Butalin Township, Sagaing Region, one woman was killed and three others injured during a morning raid by the military. Local sources reported that the military entered the village around 5 a.m. on October 25, firing indiscriminately at residents. Daw Nyolone, a 42-year-old woman, was shot and killed, while three others sustained injuries and are now receiving medical treatment.

A relative of Daw Nyolone, expressing outrage, said, “They shot while advancing, simply abusing their power over the civilians. We are just ordinary farmers, unaware of politics, but now we understand. For as long as we live, we will join the resistance and fight these military dogs. I will never forgive them.”

In addition to the shootings, the military set fire to a car and five motorcycles near Makyee Auk village. The car, rigged with explosives, triggered a mine explosion that killed seven soldiers when the fire ignited the hidden mines. The People’s Defense Force leader, Captain Ninjar, confirmed that the military also raided the nearby Battalion 1 base of the Buthalin Bandula Regiment.
