The military set fire to two villages in Pale Township, Sagaing Region, within a single day, according to local residents. On the morning of January 13, the military forces stormed Taung Ywa Thit Village and Thayet Hla Village in Pale Township, burning down civilian homes.
“Today, the military torched Taung Ywa Thit and Thayet Hla villages in Pale Township. We don’t know how many homes have been destroyed in the fire yet. Villagers are still fleeing, and no one has been able to return to the village,” a local resident said.
