Junta Forces Shoot Civilians with Mental Health Issues in Indaw

In Indaw Township, Sagaing Region, soldiers stationed at the Meiza police station shot and killed a civilian with mental health issues, according to an official from Indaw Revolution – IR. The incident occurred around 10 PM on February 8, when 45-year-old Ko Soe was walking from Meiza village to Middle Slope village and was shot near the Meiza police station.

“It seems the individual was experiencing some mental distress. He was shot right after passing in front of the police station. He was a loner and didn’t have a family. His relatives have collected the body and performed the funeral rites,” said an official from Indaw Revolution – IR.

It is reported that the junta has imposed a curfew in Indaw Township, prohibiting movement on the streets from around 6 PM to 6 AM.
