In Kachin State, after Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and People’s Defense Forces (PDF) captured the Sain Taung police station in Hpakant Township, the resistance groups are reportedly continuing their assault on the military forces stationed at the Lucky Man Hotel.
Following the takeover of the police station on the night of September 11, resistance forces launched an attack on the military troops based at the Lucky Man Hotel in the early afternoon today. It has been reported that the military is attempting to defend itself from inside the hotel, resulting in intense clashes.
Meanwhile, the military troops stationed at Hpakant View Hill are firing heavy weapons, causing significant damage to civilian homes in Sain Taung due to the artillery strikes. “We are currently engaging the troops at the Lucky Man Hotel. The artillery from Hpakant View Hill has set many civilian houses in Sain Taung ablaze. The fighting is also fierce,” stated a KIA source.
Currently, the military is reportedly conducting airstrikes in Sain Taung, further escalating the situation.
