In Yangon Region, over 400 youths held at the Bayintnaung military camp in Hlaing Township were transported to the military computer and technology school in Hopong Township, Shan State, to attend a weekly six-day military training program, according to sources from the Yangon Region military council. On the morning of October 19, more than 1,200 youths detained at the Bayintnaung military camp in Hlaing Township were started to be sent to the military computer and technology school in Hopong Township for the same six-day military training program. Approximately 25 military vehicles were involved in the operation, with around 20 individuals transported in each vehicle, ensuring the secure transport of the trainee youths. “The total number of individuals detained in Yangon Region, including those taken for military training and those taken during periodic roundups, exceeds 1,200. Out of this group, around 400 were sent to the training school in Hopong. They will be undergoing training in Southern Shan State. The vehicle convoy has already departed. Military security vehicles are following the convoy closely,” explained a source from the Yangon Region military council. The military council has been forcibly gathering youths in Yangon Region for the current six-day military training, leading to an increase in the number of individuals detained beyond initial expectations. Consequently, there has been a dispatch of individuals to military training schools in other states and regions, with training schools within Yangon Region also reportedly reaching their capacity beyond required numbers.
