A military tribunal inside Insein Prison has sentenced Ko Yan Naung Kyaw Win and Ko Thet Htoo Zaw, members of the Shwe Pyi Thar Strike Committee, to three years in prison under Section 505(a), according to a spokesperson from the committee.
On the morning of February 6, the two activists, who had been arbitrarily arrested and detained, were tried by the military court inside Insein Prison and handed prison terms with hard labor.
Despite the junta’s suppression, members of the Shwe Pyi Thar Strike Committee vowed to continue resisting until the dictatorship is completely uprooted.
