Drone and Artillery Attacks on Monasteries and Villages in Kyaukkyi Township Kill 16-Year-Old Girl, Injure Monk and Civilian

The military launched drone and artillery attacks on monasteries and villages in Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region, killing a 16-year-old girl and injuring a monk and a civilian, according to a statement from the Karen National Union (KNU).

On February 2, at approximately 1:10 p.m., the military dropped three bombs from a drone on Kanyin Kyoe Village, injuring 52-year-old Daw Kyu Kyu and destroying four houses.

On February 3, troops from Infantry Battalion 264, based in Painzalote, fired 120mm incendiary artillery shells at Alai Village. The attack killed 16-year-old Ma Su Mon and destroyed two houses.
