Six civilians, including three child monks, were killed when the military conducted an airstrike on a monastery in Kachak village, Depayin Township, Sagaing Region, according to local residents.
The bombing took place at around 1:55 p.m. on April 12, when a jet fighter believed to be from the Tada-U airbase dropped bombs on the monastery in Kachak village, locals said.
The victims of the attack included three child monks, a student, an elderly male caretaker (kappiya), and a woman. Three other child monks and two civilians who were inside the monastery compound were also injured during the strike, according to sources on the ground.
