Myanmar Military Burns Down Laekpan Village, Four Women Arrested Amidst Life-threatening Situation

In Laekpan village, located in the Saou Township of Magway Region, the military has burned down homes and arrested four women, leading to significant concerns for their safety, according to a spokesperson from the Youth Enlightenment Team. On November 10 at approximately 12:50 PM, around 80 troops from the military units (55), (11), and (101) entered the village aggressively, destroying a private home by setting it on fire and taking four women with them. Reports indicate that one civilian from the village is also missing.

At around 12:50 PM today, gunfire was heard as the troops entered Laekpan village. The military unit (55), (11), and (101), comprising about 80 soldiers, set fire to a civilian house around 4:30 PM. They arrested four innocent women from the village. The safety of those arrested is of great concern. Additionally, one innocent man is also reported missing. It is still uncertain whether there have been any civilian casualties in the village, the spokesperson from the Youth Enlightenment Team stated.

The violent military forces took the four women from Laekpan village and are reported to have established a presence in some homes of residents in Pasok village around 5 PM.
