Additional bodies of civilians who were burned and killed by junta forces have been discovered in Myay Suntaw village, Yesagyo Township, while the military continues its assaults on villages in the area, according to a member of the Yesagyo Township Info Committee.
On March 9, residents found the bodies of six civilians who were arrested and killed by junta troops that raided Myay Suntaw village in the Yelaykyun region of Yesagyo Township starting March 2.
Currently, the junta forces have reportedly killed and burned 11 civilians, including 70-year-old U Han Tin, 60-year-old U Thein Myint, 88-year-old U Than Mani, 60-year-old Daw Than Pyay, 86-year-old Daw Hla Ngwe, 67-year-old U Kyi Thein, 69-year-old U Aung Myint, 35-year-old Ko Than Zin, 40-year-old Ko Aung Lin Naing, 70-year-old U Nyunt Wai from Malaka Chan village, and 50-year-old U San Win.
“On March 9, six more bodies were found in the burned remains of Myay Suntaw village. So far, we have confirmed 11 deaths. However, residents cannot re-enter other villages to assess further destruction or determine if more civilians have been captured and killed,” said a member of the Yesagyo Township Info Committee.
