Military Launches Two Airstrikes in One Day on Two Villages in Thabeikkyin Township, Killing 13 Civilians

April 20, 2025 In Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region, the military carried out two airstrikes in one day on two villages, resulting in the deaths of 13 civilians, according to a spokesperson from the Pyin Oo Lwin District People’s Defense Force (PDF). The first airstrike occurred at approximately 10:08 AM on April 18, when a jet fighter from the Meiktila-based Shan Air Force launched a bombing attack on Leikkye Village. The attack led to the deaths of 13 people, with three others reported injured. Additionally, several homes were destroyed during the bombing. A spokesperson from the Pyin Oo Lwin District PDF shared, “The Meiktila-based Shan Air Force fighter jet bombed Leikkye Village, and we learned that 13 civilians were killed, with three others injured.”
