In Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region, the military carried out two airstrikes in one day on two villages, resulting in the deaths of 13 civilians, according to a spokesperson from the Pyin Oo Lwin District People’s Defense Force (PDF).
The first airstrike occurred at approximately 10:08 AM on April 18, when a jet fighter from the Meiktila-based Shan Air Force launched a bombing attack on Leikkye Village. The attack led to the deaths of 13 people, with three others reported injured. Additionally, several homes were destroyed during the bombing.
A spokesperson from the Pyin Oo Lwin District PDF shared, “The Meiktila-based Shan Air Force fighter jet bombed Leikkye Village, and we learned that 13 civilians were killed, with three others injured.”
