Two Civilians Killed as Military Drops 15 Bombs on Lashio, Extensive Damage to Homes and Market

Two civilians were killed and several homes, shops, and buildings were destroyed when the military dropped 15 bombs weighing 500 and 200 pounds on Lashio town in northern Shan State, according to a statement by the MNDAA.

The bombings took place on the morning of September 27, from 3:35 a.m. to 3:50 a.m. Bombs exploded near Lashio’s main market and residential areas in Wards 1 and 2, causing significant damage. In total, two civilians were killed, six others were injured, and four of the injured sustained critical wounds, requiring hospitalization.

The bombs dropped by junta planes struck locations including Lashio’s main market, Ward 1, and the area near Green Park Hotel in Ward 2. Among the 15 bombs, three hit the market, leading to the destruction of many shops.

Extensive damage to homes and buildings has been reported, particularly in areas hit by the 500-pound bombs.
