In Kantbalu Township, Sagaing Region, Myanmar, the military launched an attack on three villages, killing one civilian by burning them alive and destroying 133 homes, according to a member of the active Kantbalu-Kyun Hla group. The attack occurred on November 9 in the villages of Kyauk Kaung, Phokone, and Thabawa, where about 120 military soldiers entered and set fire to civilian homes.
The military forces attacked Thabawa village, where one civilian was burned alive. The identity of the victim has not been confirmed, but another civilian was reported to have been captured. The attack led to the destruction of 43 homes in Kyauk Kaung, 23 homes in Phokone, and 67 homes in Thabawa, totaling 133 civilian homes destroyed.
The Zigon area in Kantbalu Township is located close to military bases, prompting many civilians to flee their homes in fear of further military advances, according to a spokesperson from the Kantbalu-Kyun Hla group.
